Get Back on Your Bike! – Free Lunchtime Presentation May 18, 2010 The San Jose Cycling Classic continued with Get Back on Your Bike! a free lunch hour classroom presentation providing practical tips to get re-started bicycling. Topics covered included what to look for when buying a bike, how to ride in traffic, taking a bike on public transit, and more! Free helmets were provided and fitted for the first 25 registrants. When: Noon-1pm, Tuesday, May 18, 2010 Where: Martin Luther King Jr. Public Library, Room 255/257, 150 E. San Fernando Street in downtown San Jose. Advanced registration was required. Movie and Awards Night The San Jose Cycling Classic concluded with King of the Mountain Awards Ceremony and special free San Jose Cycling Classic Film Night at 6:30 p.m., Thurs., May 20, 2010 - Camera 12, 201 S. Second Street. Breaking Away has been selected as the 2010 movie:This 1979 cycling classic is based on a true story of a local cyclist in a small town, Dave Blaze, who lives, eats and breathes cycling and everything else Italian, coming of age in a race against college kids. Dennis Quaid plays Mike, Cyril is played by Daniel Stern and Dennis Christopher is the lead as Dave who's extraordinary story at Indiana University and the Little 500 makes for "a wonderfully sunny, funny, goofy, intelligent movie that makes you feel...good" (Robert Ebert).
