SunPower King of the Mountain Ride - May 19, 2010


The SunPower King of the Mountain Ride (KOM) is an individual challenge for skilled adult cycling athletes who can successfully take on ultra steep climbs and tough terrain.  KOM cyclists will cross a timing point at the base of Sierra Road to activate timing chips and begin their ascent up Sierra Road - a challenging 3.7-mile, 1,830-foot, gradient of 10 percent.  At the summit, riders are invited to attend a reception and watch as competitors from the Amgen Tour of California (ATOC) complete the climb and continue their ride into the central valley.

KOM registration included:

  • timing chip to allow you to compare your time against the pros.

 

   

The Webcor Builders Executive Challenge

This unique category within the KOM is open only to Silicon Valley corporate leaders and elected officials who compete for the honor of being the “Executive King-of-the-Mountain.”  Men and women Executives with the fastest time in each of these groups receive an award to recognize his or her achievement. 

CEO: A CEO is considered a paid representative employed within a company or organization with the title of Chief Executive Officer, President, Executive Director or highest ranking title.

Executive: An Executive is considered a non-CEO paid representative employed within a company or organization with the title of Vice President or higher ranking title.

Elected Official:  An elected official is a person who has been selected by a public vote during a State of California public election process and acquired a position through this election process.
